Coaching Events

Maria Iliffe-Wood will often lead explorations, discussion and/or reflections on the subject of presence and finding your inner wisdom. There are no events planned at the current time.

There is a clear link presence and mental wellbeing. Here's some food for thought:

Presence
Maria talks about presence in her book as:
An enabling space... You are calm, fearless and mindful... You are flexible, adaptable and responsive. In this presence you have time and space to reflect and consider what you are doing, why you are doing it and what your options are.

Mental Wellbeing

The World Health Organisation defines mental wellbeing as:
A state of wellbeing, in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully.”

When we are being or living in the present moment, we have a clear mind, there is no mental chatter to get in the way, we have access to wisdom, creativity and confidence.

When we are in a state of mental wellbeing, we have no thoughts from the past, or worries about the future, to contaminate our thought process. We feel ok, we are resilient, confident, optimistic, hopeful.

What’s the difference between the two states of mind, and what’s the same? And does this have any impact on our coaching practice?
